Center Stage Has Closed
Center Stage Has Closed
Center Stage Friends and Families,
It is with some sadness that I am announcing that Center Stage will close its doors after eight wonderful and rewarding years of providing the community with excellence in its music, theater and dance programs and productions. I make this decision pulled by my "other" career as a performer and scholar, in the pursuit of additional performance, teaching and writing opportunities. I will miss very much the excitement of our productions and performances, as well as the classes and ensembles of terrific students.
I will continue to teach private lessons in my home in Groton (near Shaws, less than ten minutes from the studio)beginning July 1st. Lesson in June will still be at the studio. I will continue with the Performance Class in the Fall. I also hope to revive a Singers chorus for older students and additional chorus of young singers, ages 5 - 8, by audition. I will also offer beginning class piano. If my home can not accommodate the needs of rehearsals, I will find space for us in a local church. Meghan will also continue to teach piano; please speak with her directly about arrangements. I anticipate having a few spaces open for new or transferring students in piano, voice or flute, by recommendation or audition.
I would like to take this time to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you in our Center Stage 'family,' but especially to the Stage Hands Board, including Dave Dumas, President, Sandra Habe, Production Manager and Rich Charlap, Treasurer; to Donna Charlap for her generous volunteer work in the office; Meghan Taevs, Rebecca Wilson, Nora Mello, Lauren McCoy and Brandon Jurewicz for their gifted teaching; Erin Chapman, Office Manager and former office manager, Julie Mello. I also thank all the former board members and parent volunteers who contributed their many talents and precious energy to our organization. Finally, and most importantly, I thank all my students for enriching my life during these Center Stage years. It has been my pleasure to work with such amazingly creative and expressive children, and nothing is more rewarding than joining them in their growth and blossoming of talent and confidence.
I would be happy to address any individual concerns, recommendations or questions you might have.
Again, my appreciation and good wishes,
Warm Regards,
Dr. Tish
