“T” TRACK        AGES 7 - 14

30 weeks: Deposit of $250 + 4 payments of $300/Sept-June

or $750 for one 15 week session

“T” is for Triple Threat Tuesdays!  “Triple Threat” is a term used in theater for the performer who is skilled in all three areas:  a good singer, dancer and actor.  This option is ideal for the beginning student, or the student who loves theater but does not want to make the commitment in time to the Company. The 3 hour session one day a week will focus on the three Triple Threat areas in class time.  The workshop style of the group will rehearse at least 2 plays for the 15 week session with several performances in the CSPA Recital Room.  Students will not be placed in any particular level, but will be grouped in a variety of ways according to age, ability and roles, depending on the group as a whole, assuring many opportunities for growth and performance for each student.  The specific schedule for each 3 hour block will be flexible, again in response to the group’s needs, with at least one lead director/teacher (but usually 2) and teen assistants.  The “T” Track will combine with the Company in April for a performance of “Sleeping Beauty” (Tish’s adaptation for musical theater of the Tchaikovsky ballet)    in April, at an area school.

Questions & Answers about our “T” Track!

  1. Who will be participating in the “T” Track?

  2. This workshop style afternoon of music dance and theater will have a mix of ages and levels which will be split at times, and working as an ensemble at other times.  Students who were in our former Levels I-IV will not be on the same day.

  3. Will I have to take classes?

  4. Classes in voice, theater and drama skills will be included in the Tuesday program, splitting into appropriate levels.  The times of the classes, order and length may vary from week to week.  Rehearsal time will also vary according to the goals of each particular workshop.

  5. Will I have the opportunity to have a “lead” role?

  6. The new structure of our programming is designed to give more students more opportunities to stretch their skills.  This is especially so in productions in which the “Company” is not involved, as all the lead roles would then go to “T” students.  The workshop style of the “T” Track will add to the range of possibilities.

  7. How many performances will the “T” Track do this semester?

  8. The number of performances will depend on the size and make-up of the group of students.  Performances will be customized according to the potential of the group and the ensembles within it.

  9. Which shows will the “T” Track be involved with this semester?

  10. Depending on the group, plans for productions and performances include “Nutcracker Sweets,” excerpts from the musical theater version of Tchaikovsky’s ballet written by Tish Anne Kilgore.  Roles for “T” Track students will include Party Children, Soldiers, Mice and Dolls.

  11. In late January the “T” Track will do Spells and Spindles,” an original musical theater production about a school for witches and wizards.  Additional skits and reviews of numbers will be considered depending on the progress of the group.

  12. Where will performances be held?

  13. All performances this first semester will be held in our Recital Room which seats about 50 in an audience around the set.  This will give us the opportunity to do more performances of each production, with more casting flexibility as well.  Our Spring production of “Sleeping Beauty” is the only show planned for an outside venue (area school auditorium) for any of our programs.
